One of my favorite things about fall is the endless layering options from my closet. Layering is done best through mixing different textures, colors and fabrics, while making sure all those textures, colors and fabrics compliment each other. A safe way to begin laying is by choosing colors in the same color family. Also, lighter layers help you avoid the bulk that can happen when layering up; if an outfit becomes too bulky, however, consider cinching it at the waist with a belt to pull everything together! We here at Plvsh are big proponents of layering, especially at this time of year when it can be downright cold on your way into the office in the morning, but very pleasantly temperate on the way home. This is a great example of a transitional outfit–taking a summer appropriate print dress and layering over it with cooler weather accessories. The fall hued deep blue in the dress is brought out with the dark wash denim jacket. A chunky knit scarf mixes up the textures adding depth to the look. Finally, keep your legs warm with a high riding boot and you are ready to go!

This outfit is all about elongating your figure for a flattering look.
