pantone colors of the year

The fashion world was all abuzz when Pantone recently released their two 2016 Pantone colors of the year. That’s right, this year TWO colors were chosen to represent the year, and both are a drastic mix up from last year’s “it” color Marsala.

“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” – Pantone.

Along with being “serene”, the colors are meant to symbolize gender equality and to explore the different uses of these traditional stereotypical colors, in fashion and every other use of color.  We LOVE these new shades, and already working them into our wardrobes!  Here are some of our PLVSH stylist approved picks for showcasing these shades this season.

Rose Quartz

Cowl Neck Top |  Faux Leather Jacket | Pom Hat | Mini Tote | Cashmere Scarf

A light pink inherently is feminine, so you can accentuate that in soft fabrics or do it in a structured jacket like this faux leather one for a modern take.

Serenity

Sheer Knit Top | Chambray Top | Necklace | Deborah Lippmann Nailpolish | Ballet Flat Shoe

A light blue is inherently perfect for the winter months, especially when worn with a crip white.
