Truth is, the jumpsuit is a classic piece that is both extremely versatile and appropriate for just about any style from modest to uber trendy. Like anything else, it just depends on the piece itself. The key, as with all clothes, is to choose one that will flatter your particular body and shape. Below are our Plvsh Stylist’s tips on how to find the perfect jumpsuit.
1. Pick High Quality Structured Fabrics
The type of fabric definitely matters when picking a jumpsuit. You don’t want material that will be too clingy because it might draw attention to areas that you are not comfortable drawing attention to. Stick with high quality fabrics that are more sturdy and structured. To help you decide if the fabric will work, take a quick look at the care label. Knit jersey with spandex is your friend because it’s stretchable and the perfect option as it is forgiving and skims over curves. A slightly heavier cotton blend with a bit of stretch works as material is soft and durable.
2. Have Fun with Colors and Prints
Monochromatic jumpsuits are perfect for curvy silhouettes as dark, rich, or bold colors elongate the body but don’t be afraid to also try fun prints, stripes or large colorful prints. Remember, it’s ultimately about the fit of the piece, so have as much fun with the color and print as you want.

3. Keep Proportion Top of Mind
Pick jumpsuits with complimentary lines. If your top is larger than your bottom, then opt for open necklines and wide legs to provide a balance. V-necks, wide scoop, or round neck shapes tend to well for full-busted women as they make your neck look longer, and draw attention up above your bust to your neck and and face.

4. Look for a Cinched in Waist
Find a jumpsuit that cinches in right at, or a little above the waist. This will help to emphasize the narrowest section of the body and create the illusion of an hourglass shape. Bonus tip: Pair it with a belt sitting right above the waistline to create the right proportion from waist to crotch.

5. Sleeve Length Matters
While shopping, you will find sleeveless, long-sleeved, and short-sleeved jumpsuit options. While not all women are comfortable with sleeveless options, showing a little skin on the arm can go a long way. If you do opt for sleeves, 3/4 length works well so you still have some skin at the wrists peeking out.
