HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR WARDROBE TO FALL

Fall is around the corner, and while you don’t need to stash all of your summer favorites, it’s time to start thinking about how you will make the wardrobe transition. It is possible to gracefully fade out your staples, and even wear them all fall/winter long.  Here are our stylist’s tips to seamlessly make the transition.

Add Hosiery

Berkinshire Easy On Tights  These easy on tights have ventilation cooling fibers to keep you cool at summers end. Try wearing under your favorite summer dress.

Tights can really extend the life of your summer options. Your heavier shorts can be worn in the cooler months by layering an opaque tight underneath with a bootie. Leather skinnies are chic year-round as a bottom. And as you transition into fall, don’t take your favorite summer frocks out of rotation! Throw on opaque tights under your pretty flowing dress.  They are a fashionable and versatile closet must have item.

Layering

Karen Kane Ruched Sleeve Jacket  Ruching pushes up the sleeves, bringing unstudied elegance to a drape-front jacket of stretch jacquard with a sophisticated geometric pattern. Try layering over a blouse and short combo.

When a crisp chill enters the air, layering adds warmth and a sophisticated element to skin-baring pieces.  The hint of skin says that summer isn’t quite over yet and can be easily removed during the warmer mid day. It’s safe to start packing away anything that screams summer such as linen shorts, cotton and maxi dresses. Silk or heavier cotton materials can be worn year round though.  Sharpen softer pieces with more tailed layers like a menswear inspired blazer.

Accessories

Calvin Klein Watercolor Scarf  Waves of watercolor wash over a lightweight and flowy Calvin Klein scarf, perfect for the weekend.  The mixed saturation levels bring all the seasons together.

Accessories can make such an impact to a look. Between seasons, a scarf will update any outfit. A lighter airy scarf was made for this in-between time. Opt for a silk or cotton scarf – synthetics tend to trap heat. Also, wrap it on the looser relaxed side.  You can also start introducing fall jewelry trends into your look. Resin, clay, opal and updated pearls are on the fashion radar.  It is also time to start breaking out your fall bootie collection to make a summer look scream fall.

Wear Fall Hues

17 Sundays Cross Front  Woven Pant These are a chic woven pant with a fabric tie waist in the coveted Pantone Autumn Maple color.  Pair with a crisp white summer tee for after work drinks.

Channel those changing leaves! As you transition your wardrobe, start dabbling in fall’s signature hues like orange, red, rust and mustard yellow.  Also, darker colors, in general, will start to introduce your wardrobe to fall.

Change Up Your Makeup Palette

Mac Burgundy Eye Palette  An array of burgundy hues, this palette features both matte and satin finishes to create a variety of day to night fall looks.

With Autumn brings warm burgundy and PSL inspired copper hues. Shimmery lids and berry lipsticks are on trend this season. A touch more bronzer is a must have as your summer glow fades. Makeup is the finishing touch to any outfit and can change your whole feel of your look.
