1. How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style has changed over the years. I certainly went through a very mainstream phase when I was young, a more masculine phase, and a tougher, darker phase around 20-years-old. Now, my style is much more refined, a touch more feminine, and a very little bit more colorful. I like playing with texture, structure, and silhouettes.
2. What are your favorite sources for style inspiration?
I’m inspired by the people around me! I am so lucky to be surrounded by some of the best people in the fashion industry, and they constantly serve as style inspiration—and beyond.
3. What item of clothing has been in your closet the longest?
Hmm…Well, I currently house a number of my mother’s old articles of clothing—blazers, blouses, skirts—so, I would say those. If you mean something that I bought, it’s probably my prom dress. It’s a BCBG MAXAZRIA tuxedo dress.
4. Do you think there’s anything plus-size women shouldn’t wear?
No.
5. Who’s your favorite designer coming out with extended/plus sizes?
It’s hard to pick just one! I love Marina Rinaldi’s work in advertising and their evening wear. I love ASOS for a quick, cool shop. I love Lane Bryant for their feats in designer collaborations. For swimwear, Robyn Lawley makes amazing pieces. The list goes on…
