Actress Patricia Arquette is featured in the fall advertising campaign for Marina Rinaldi and we couldn’t be more excited.  Photographer by Bruce Weber stated that he wanted to create a narrative centered around family values, and feature beautiful, powerful and confident women, which made Arquette a natural choice.

An Oscar winning actress, know for her breakout role in Nightmare On Elm Street 3, Arquette had starring roles in the television series Medium and the recent Indie hit Boyhood.  long line of performers  Arquette is also a strong advocate for wage equality and women’s rights, and helped to start the dialogue when, at the end of her 2015 Oscars speech, she called for equal wages for women working in the United States.

Coupled with Marina Rinaldi’s decision to “…move away from sizes and into the idea of real women, in a culture where size and age are taboos”, the choice of Arquette makes even more sense. The brand with its new headline, “Women Are Back”, is choosing to include women of all sizes and ages in its campaigns, and in fact, has always been ahead of the curve when it came to evolving beyond the status quo.  Marina Rinaldi was the first brand to introduce the term taglia comoda (“plus-size”, literally, “comfortable size”), replacing the traditional term taglia forte (“outsize”) which had originally been used. While the brand’s main markets are in Europe and Russia, it’s popularity as a ready to wear brand is steadily growing stateside with big names such as Melissa McCathy wearing the label on the red carpet.

The fall line for Marina Rinaldi will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom, in boutiques in Los Angeles and New York, and online at http://world.marinarinaldi.com.
